The Cusco and Machu Picchu 4 Days Tour, includes a tour to Cusco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu takes you through all the most important sites in Cusco such as:

Qoricancha also known as the Temple of the Sun that during the Inca Empire the temple was dedicated to the worship of the Sun God (“Inti”).

Also, we will visit Sacsayhuaman, one of the most emblematic archaeological places of the Inca Empire built by the Inca Pachacuteq in the 15th century.

Then, we will do the tour to the Sacred Valley which is one of the most popular routes in the Cusco region, and which functioned as an agricultural, spiritual and political center.

At the end of this tour, we will take you on one of the most incredible train trips in the world and we will go to Machu Picchu “One of the seven wonders of the modern world”.

Itinerary:

Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, our staff will be waiting for you for your transfer to the Hotel, where you will receive a courtesy coca tea to help in case you have altitude sickness, you will have the morning free to rest and we also suggest you have a light lunch in your hotel or one of the restaurants in the area.

At 1:00 p.m. The City tour around the city begins, during which we will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Qoricancha (temple of the sun) and also visit other archaeological centers such as the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, Qenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. The tour ends at 6:00 p.m. approximately in the main square to be able to dine in one of the exquisite restaurants in the area, then we will transfer to the hotel so that you can rest.

Breakfast at the hotel. At 7:45 am. We start the full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We begin by visiting the colorful market of Pisac, located at the entrance to the Sacred Valley and followed by Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with its canals that have not changed since Inca times, evoke its ancestral heritage, lunch in a typical restaurant. Then we will visit Chinchero, it is believed that this is the mythical birthplace of the rainbow. Finally, we will return to the main square of Cusco at 6:30 p.m. approx.

The night is free to eat at the restaurant of your choice; although we always have many suggestions for you in case you need them.

Breakfast. At 04:00 am we will pick you up from your hotel to go to the Ollantaytambo train station. The train departs from the Ollantaytambo station (located 1 hour and 50 minutes outside of Cusco). You will have service on board the train while the passengers observe the spectacular landscape that unfolds before them. From the agricultural plains along the way, to the waters of the Urubamba River, and as you approach Machu Picchu, the towering mountains, the landscape is constantly changing.

The train arrives in Aguas Calientes, from this town we will take the buses that will take us to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, a 30-minute trip to the Citadel.

Upon arriving at the entrance of Machu Picchu, passengers can enter the citadel directly as tickets will have been purchased in advance for all guests.

A guide will accompany you around the citadel, pointing out the best of the ruins and telling the story of this Inca settlement.

After the guided tour, guests have the option of walking around this fascinating site on their own.

In the afternoon we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our staff will be waiting for you, to transfer you by bus to Cusco.

How long to visit Machu Picchu?

The trip to Machu Picchu is done in a minimum of 2 days, because the Inca city is almost 100 kilometers from Cusco.

The first day, you arrive in the city of Cusco and take a City Tour in the afternoon that includes the archaeological sites of Coricancha and Sacsayhuaman.

The second day you visit Machu Picchu. The trip starts very early and ends at night in the city of Cusco.

What is the best season for the Cusco and Machu Picchu 4 Days Tour?

The best time for your vacations in Machu Picchu is between the months of April and October, since these are the months of high season, in which many tourists visit the city due to the dry climate without rain. However, this does not guarantee that there will not be an occasional isolated shower. During this season there are fewer clouds and you can enjoy the tour much more in the area.
